SUNSHINE AND SHOWERS
The inspiration for the Sunshine and Showers blanket was the seasonal weather of the UK with each section of the design reflecting
a different seasonal theme. For example, in July and August the design was based on sunny skies and flowers, whereas in
January the focus was grey snowy weather, which I represented by using crochet puff stitches.
The blanket is worked in rows in a sampler style and is made in 4 sections, which are joined together to make one big blanket.
The project was first released in 2017 when it was presented as a monthly crochet along project in a magazine.
As the design is celebrating its 5th Birthday this year we thought it was time to gave the project a little bit of TLC, so we have
revamped the download patterns so that they take up a smaller amount of space and use less paper and ink if you print them.
We have also created some free technique videos to accompany each part of the design which we will be highlighting on our social
media platforms each month for a year so that you can crochet along with us at your leisure should you wish to do so.
You can find the free 'Getting Ready' Introduction document by following this link.
Like all my crochet along projects I designed this one in a way that made it a great learning tool. It gets progressively harder
so that you can build your crochet skills. All patterns include step-by-step images and detailed instructions throughout.
The patterns are not available as paper copies, instead you can purchase them as downloads via our
web store by following this link, or you can find them on Ravelry and Etsy.
I think this project would make a great stash buster, but if you want to purchase a dedicated yarn pack, using the shades
shown in the images above, you can find them here.
