IMOGEN BLANKET
|
Inspired by traditional Victorian Crochet designs, the Imogen Blanket echoes the design theme of my incredibly popular 2012 Crochet Club project.
The project and is aimed at crocheters with a reasonable knowledge of crochet techniques and the pattern includes lots of images and tips to help you along the way. You can find the paper pattern in our shop or downloadable versions on Etsy or Ravelry by clicking on the links below. The yarn originally used to make this project is now longer available, but we have now updated the design by making a version using DK weight yarn from the Yarnsmiths range. You can find yarn packs for the project by following this link to Wool Warehouse. Using a DK weight yarn, means that the project comes up slightly larger than indicated on the original pattern, and hook sizes differ. You can find a free yarn substitution document, which shows the yarn amounts and measurements for the DK weight blanket, by following this link. The Yarnsmiths version uses a cotton and acrylic mix yarn with a length of 145m to 50g. If using an alternative DK weight yarn to this it is essential that you check the length to make sure you have sufficient yarn for the project. We chose a palette that is paler in colour than the original shades and it has a slightly hazy feel that echoes vintage crochet pieces. You can see the different versions in the images on this page. |
