MAGIC CIRCLES
|
I love looking at how shapes fit together and had wanted to create a tessellating circle design for some time. Circular motifs can be tricky to fit together and it is common to find the circular shape becomes slightly distorted when motifs are pieced together, so rather than create motifs that are square or octagonal, I have designed cross-shaped infill pieces that protect the shape of the large circles. When making the small infill circles you are asked to make a magic loop to start. You can find a technique download that explains how to do this by following this link. Instructions on how to add surface crochet can be found by following this link. Kits as well as paper and download patterns are available for this project and can be found by clicking on the images further down this page. |
This pattern was originally written for a blanket, but when I saw the beautiful range of shades available in Eden Cottage Milburn DK range I knew I had to make a scarf/wrap version too!
You can find yarn kits for the wrap project by following this link to Eden Cottage Yarns*. *Shades may vary from those used originally due to discontinuations. |

We have two alternative colourways of the Magic Circles blanket called Skimming Stones and Supernova. You can download the free yarn substitution documents for both by clicking on the images either side of this text box. We have kits for both versions, which include all the yarns needed, a sew in label, the original Magic Circles blanket pattern and the printed yarn substitution documents. |
