KNIT FOR PEACE
Knit for Peace is an initiative of the Charities Advisory Trust. It grew out of a project developed kin Rwanda and India that
brought together women of traditionally hostile communities to knit garments for street children and orphans.
Knit for Peace believe that knitting and crochet is good for people! As well as being fun and therapeutic, the crafts bring people
together and gives a way of helping others in need, providing benefits to both the knitter/crocheter and the recipient.
The charity's policy is to encourage people to give. Whether this is in the shape of time or money. Knit for Peace distribute
hand made items to over 200 outlets, including hospitals, women's refuges, prisons, refugee drop in centres,
community groups and hospices as well as developing countries.
Knit for Peace send knitted and crocheted items to where they are needed and pass on donations of yarn and needles to enable
people on low incomes to knit and crochet. You can find out more by clicking here or on any of the images above.
