BEADED CROCHET DECORATIONS

I had been toying with the idea of creating crochet artworks for some time and love the recent trend for festive wall hangings.

When Inside Crochet Magazine asked if I would like to work on a beaded masterclass booklet I jumped at the chance and set about creating four different designs, which you can make to hang on your tree, thread up as bunting, or pin to a board to create an artwork like mine.

The patterns for the Sparkle & Shine beaded decoration set appeared in Inside Crochet Magazine issue 184. 

I love the way unpacking the festive decorations year after year and arranging them around the house brings back lots of lovely memories and good feelings. Handmade decorations make extra special gifts as they convey that sentiment too and are a great way of using up odds and ends of yarn from your stash.

JULIE'S BUNTING

My amazing sister-in law, Julie, adored bunting. Any excuse for a party and Julie would be there with a step ladder and loads of bunting to decorate the room! We lost Julie after a courageous battle with cancer earlier on this year, so I wanted to design something in her memory. A pretty, floral bunting that features some beads and yarn in her favourite colour, yellow, was the obvious choice.
