KNITTING WITH WIRE WORKSHOP - SUNDAY 10TH NOVEMBER 2019
Learn to knit with fine wire and Swarovski crystal beads with leading designer Suraya Hossain of Mahliqa.
The workshop will provide you with the opportunity to learn the basics of wire knitting, introducing the materials and tools used, and an understanding of how designs can be created.
You will be given all the materials to make a knitted wire brooch in a thistle design, available in two wire colours. This design was an exclusive for the Edinburgh Yarn Festival 2019.
Working from a grid pattern chart, you will see how easy it is to incorporate beads into your wire knitting. Your knitted piece will then be placed in a brooch frame, ready for you to wear or place on your favourite project bag!
Design ideas will also be explored, demonstrating how wire can be knitted and crocheted to produce interesting, wearable pieces.
Workshop Length: 3 Hours.
Workshop starts at 10.30am & runs through to 1.30pm - please arrive by 10.15am.
