20 Timeless Knit and Crochet Projects.
The craft skills that have traditionally been passed down through the generations from mother to daughter are as popular as ever, boosted by the current vogue for all things vintage - my book will help you turn your house into a home and it is packed full of knit and crochet projects that will fit perfectly into any interior.
There are a total of 20 projects, all of which offer a yarn lover a chance to make a really beautiful accessory for their home, be it a scatter cushion, a pillow slip or a bedspread. Some of the patterns are aimed at beginners and are relatively easy, whilst others are aimed at more competent knitters and crocheters. Regardless of your skill level there is bound to be something in the book that you want to make.
The book is divided into three interior design stories:
Folk Tales was inspired by the current trend for folk art within interiors. Looking at Russian and Eastern European traditional design, I included 8 projects within this section of the book. Patterns include both a knitted and a crocheted floor cushion, a crochet beaded sofa pillow, a knitted cushion with crochet bird embellishment and dorset buttons, a round short row shaped knitted cushion cover, a felted crochet 'rug' and a crochet bedspread.
Two Tone was inspired by the monographic designs of Coco Chanel. The designs within this section use black, white cream and grey shades of yarn and provide the knitter and crocheter with the perfect vehicle to choose their own colour palette. Projects include a crochet lace pillow slip cover, a crochet lamp shade accessory, two knitted sofa cushions and one crochet cushion cover.
Time for Tea was designed with the 'make do and mend' ethos of a bygone era in mind. Yarn shades are pretty and feminine with pinks and light green shades being the key colour choices. Projects include 2 round knitted cushions, pretty lace crochet doilies and three embellished and beaded cushion covers.
Published by leading craft publisher Collins & Brown, this book is a must have for any serious knitter or crocheter. All projects use yarns from the Rowan range and beads from the Debbie Abrahams Collection.
